Japanese Fabric, Colours and Pattern

Day two of my Tokyo trip took me to a summer festival in a part of Tokyo called Asagaya. This is where I lived from age 0-3. I had some very faint flash backs of places and feelings. It felt very familiar and welcoming but I couldn’t quite piece together the memories.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m really interested in traditional Japanese fabrics and designs at the moment so I was taking photos of people in yukatas (summer kimonos) whilst trying to not look like too much of a creep.

Some beautiful paper uchiwa (fans).

Once I got home, I felt inspired to get me chalks oot, for the first time in a very long time.
I messed around putting down some colours and it felt good!
