DIY: Japanese Headbands

Hello! I hope you’re having a great week so far!

This week I’ve been inspired by Japanese fishermen and festival attire and gone a bit headband crazy.
I used some of the fabric I bought on a recent trip to Tokyo and played around with some Autumnal colour combinations.

This has coincided perfectly with the Autumn festivals that have been happening across the city this week.
I’m not entirely sure what the festivals are for but I went to an evening BBQ at my friend’s house and enjoyed the celebrations. I didn’t realise until later that I’d eaten wild boar that my friend’s dad’s friend had hunted himself!

I absolutely love the deep subdued colours and patterns of traditional Japanese fabric.
These types of fabrics appeal to me much more than the stereotypical spangly flashy fabrics that the far east is known for.

I’m thinking of making some cushions in these fabrics, what do you think?
